First Alert Weather Day for rain chances, Air Quality Alert in Phoenix area

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A First Alert Weather Day has been issued for Sunday. There is a decent chance of showers and storms developing around parts of the Valley later today and tonight.

While not all locations in the Valley are guaranteed to receive rain, some may receive 0.25 to 0.50 inches late today into the overnight hours.

In fact, the chance of showers is only 30% this afternoon but increases to over 50% this evening into the overnight hours. In addition, breezy conditions will lead to the potential for blowing dust, which is why an air quality alert is in effect today. Not lost in the story, it should be that the highs will only reach around 80 today…
