MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — Deportation flights out of the Mesa Gateway Airport started this week, and protesters on Monday say the flights are violations of human rights.
Dozens of people gathered in front of the East Valley airport with picket signs and flags, and they said these flights don’t represent their community or their country.
“We’re just trying to walk the walk,” said Becky Wyatt, an organizer of the protest. “If our country is a country that values life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, you know we all say ‘liberty and justice for all,’ then we need to act like it.”…
