1 killed in wrong-way crash on Loop 202 in Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — One person has died after being hit by a wrong-way driver on a Phoenix freeway early Monday morning.

The crash happened around midnight on the Loop 202 Red Mountain westbound near Priest Drive. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), a Subaru SUV was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the Loop 202 before it sideswiped a Hyundai vehicle and then collided head-on with a Kia sedan.

As a result of the crash, the Subaru SUV flipped onto its roof, DPS said. The Kia hit the concrete wall on the right shoulder…
