Suspect arrested in theft of 2 Tempe photo radar signs

A 55-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the theft of two photo radar signs in Tempe, police said Tuesday.

Sven Siverston was arrested Aug. 13 following an eight-day investigation that began when police said the suspect’s truck was flashed by a mobile speed camera just after 7:30 a.m. Aug. 5 near 2500 N. Scottsdale Road.

“About 30 minutes later, video surveillance from the area showed Siverston walking up to a photo radar warning sign, kicking sandbags off the base and carrying it away,” Tempe police stated in a release…
