The collision resulted from a 35-year-old man allegedly speeding and ignoring a red light, subsequently colliding with the Uber vehicle. This information comes from the Gilbert Police, who have suggested that charges will be forthcoming. The driver in question survived the accident and faces arrest post-hospital release. “We got the news at 4 a.m….when the police showed up to the house and gave us the news,” said Robert Ortiz, stepfather of the Uber driver, Nicole Snell. Described as a “free spirit” by her family, Snell, 36, was a dental assistant, dog groomer, and Uber driver.
