Queen Creek Council approves events permit process

Town Council on Oct. 15 approved a permit process for events on both public and private property despite one member’s concerns about its noise control provisions.

With both the mayor and vice mayor absent, Council voted 4-1 to approve Police Chief Randy Brice’s requested ordinance. Councilman Travis Padilla cast the lone dissent after failing to get a second for his motion to roll consideration of the measure to the next meeting.

Stressing his proposal was not an effort to raise money with new fees – the permit costs will be considered at some future date – Bryce said that the permitting process will be designed to help event planners when it takes effect in about a month…
