PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is in custody after allegedly admitting to a series of armed robberies across the west Phoenix area that date back to September.
Phoenix Police detectives say Alexis Garcia-Fajardo first targeted WSS Shoe Store near 51st Avenue and Indian School Road on Sept. 28. Around 8:30 p.m., Garcia-Fajardo allegedly went into the store, pulled out a handgun and told the employee to give him money from the cash register. Surveillance footage caught Garcia-Fajardo leaving the scene in a white Honda sedan.
The next incident happened on the evening of Oct. 23. According to court paperwork, Garcia-Fajardo arrived at Big 5 Sporting Goods on 77th Avenue and Thomas Road and again threatened an employee with his gun and demanded money…
