Chandler Unified School District is considering eliminating nearly 122 staff positions because of cuts in its funding.
How many of those positions would be involuntary is not known. Traditionally, CUSD handles staffing cuts through attrition: When someone retires at the end of a school year, the position isn’t filled.
But the rapid drop in attendance may mean that at least some of those positions will require layoffs…
