Body Found Along Scottsdale’s Indian Bend Greenbelt Sends Cops Scrambling

Scottsdale police converged on a busy stretch of Indian Bend Road near Scottsdale Road on Saturday as crews worked to recover a body, turning a familiar commuter route into an active investigation scene. Officers said a death investigation will begin once the body is removed, but for now they are releasing very few details. Yellow tape ringed the crossing while investigators documented the area.

According to 12 News, Scottsdale Police confirmed they were conducting a body recovery near Indian Bend and Scottsdale roads and said they do not yet know the circumstances surrounding the discovery. The outlet reported that investigators have not released the person’s identity or given a timeline for when the recovery might be complete.

Where It Happened

The recovery unfolded at the well-traveled intersection of Indian Bend Road and Scottsdale Road, along the corridor that hugs the Indian Bend Wash greenbelt through central Scottsdale. The greenbelt spans about 11 miles, lined with parks, lakes and multiuse paths, and also functions as the city’s primary flood-control channel, according to the City of Scottsdale.

This stretch of Indian Bend has seen its share of emergencies. Arizona’s Family reported that a man was pulled from floodwaters in the Indian Bend Wash last September, and ABC15 reported that police found a woman deceased this week in a condominium near the same intersection.
