$7 billion development Halo Vista breaks ground next to TSMC chip plant in North Phoenix

PHOENIX — Construction has begun on Halo Vista, a 2,300-acre mixed-use development next to the TSMC Arizona campus in north Phoenix that is described as a “city within a city.”

New York-based Mack Real Estate Group and co-developer McCourt Partners held a ceremonial groundbreaking Thursday for the project, which will eventually house 30 million square feet of industrial, office, retail and residential space to serve the growing semiconductor workforce in the region.

First businesses already announced at Halo Vista

The developers also announced the first tenants to anchor the project: A Costco, an auto mall with approximately 11 dealerships and a five-story dual-branded Marriott hotel featuring Courtyard and Residence Inn properties. Those businesses will be situated along Interstate 17 and Dove Valley Road.

The $7 billion project is intended to complement TSMC’s massive chipmaking investment in the area by providing housing, commercial space and services for the thousands of workers expected in the region. Developers compared the vision to Taiwan’s Hsinchu Science Park, a renowned hub for semiconductor research and manufacturing.
