Hickory Crawdads rally past RiverDog to halt Charleston’s comeback

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — The Hickory Crawdads spoiled Charleston’s comeback attempt Sunday night, defeating the RiverDogs 10-6 before a crowd of 3,689 at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park.

Despite the loss, Charleston remained on the verge of clinching a postseason berth. The RiverDogs’ magic number stayed at two with three games remaining in the South Atlantic League first-half race. Any combination of two Charleston victories and/or two Hickory losses would secure a playoff spot for the RiverDogs.
