‘Be Still and Know’: New documentary tells Mother Emanuel survivor’s story in her own words

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — Eleven years after a gunman walked into Mother Emanuel AME Church and opened fire, killing nine church worshippers at Bible study, a new documentary is telling one survivor’s story in her own words.

“Be Still and Know: The Polly Sheppard Story” follows Sheppard’s journey through the night of the shooting and her path to forgiveness and healing.
