Jury selected in nearly decade-old Johns Island murder trial; opening statements set for Tuesday

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) — A jury has been selected in the murder trial of Nathaniel Mack, the man accused of killing his Johns Island neighbor nearly a decade ago.

Mack is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in the 2016 death of Jason Arion.

According to court documents, Charleston County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Arion’s home in January 2016 after his mother requested a welfare check because she had been unable to reach him. Deputies found Arion dead inside the home from a gunshot wound…
