Lowcountry shelters at capacity after Georgetown County animal cruelty case

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCSC) — Shelters across the Lowcountry are at or near maximum capacity after more than 100 dogs and nearly a dozen cats were removed from a Georgetown County home where investigators say they were living in unlivable conditions.

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kimberly Moody and Ralph Moody following an investigation that began after more than 50 dogs were abandoned at several locations throughout the county over two weeks.
