NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — Jurors heard two very different versions of what happened inside a North Charleston apartment in December 2021 as the double murder trial of Rashiean Washington continued Tuesday.
Prosecutors told jurors that Washington killed two men he was living with before setting the apartment on fire. His defense attorney says Washington acted in self-defense and that jurors will hear why he believed he had no other choice.
The case centers around the deaths of Damarion Champaigne and Jasmond Grant, who prosecutors say were living at an apartment on Sumner Avenue with Washington, who was known to family members as “Mag.”…
