NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Violent crime in North Charleston has dropped significantly over the past two years, according to new data released by the North Charleston Police Department.
According to department data, homicides, aggravated assaults, robberies, and other violent crimes have all decreased over the last two years. Through the first half of 2026, the department reported a 53.2% decrease in the number of people shot, with 22 fewer victims compared to the same period last year.
