New tuition-free charter high school in North Charleston focuses on individualized learning

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A new tuition-free charter high school is set to open in North Charleston, aiming to serve at-risk students with an accelerated graduation plan and a flexible, individualized approach to education.

Riverstone High School, the first charter institution of its kind in South Carolina, will welcome students from Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties. With a focus on mastery-based, self-paced learning, the school is designed for students who need an alternative to traditional classroom models.
