MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — With the first day of school just weeks away, the Berkeley County School District is inviting families to celebrate the start of a new academic year at its annual OneBerkeley Back-to-School Festival, a community event offering free school supplies, food, entertainment and resources for students and parents.
The festival will take place Saturday, Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Moncks Corner Regional Recreation Complex.
The event’s signature giveaway includes 3,000 free bookbags, each filled with basic school supplies. The backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last…
