NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The City of North Charleston has launched a new homeless council designed to bring the voices of unhoused residents directly to the table.
The nine-member council includes five people who are currently unhoused, couch-surfing or living in encampments, along with four nonprofit and community leaders. The council has already held its first meeting and is expected to gather at least four times a year.
