Berkeley County deputies recover guns, drugs from convicted felon in traffic stop

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) — A 28-year-old man was arrested following a traffic stop in Ladson that led deputies to recover firearms, narcotics, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Duane Lewis announced the arrest of Carlos F. Cordero of Red Bank Road. Cordero was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to distribute cocaine base and possession with intent to distribute marijuana, second offense.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies stopped a white Lexus near College Park Road and Highway 78 after observing a traffic violation and a window tint violation…
