North Charleston woman arrested after police find fentanyl, cocaine during patrols

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A North Charleston woman was arrested Thursday after police conducting proactive patrols in an area linked to recent drug activity allegedly found fentanyl and cocaine in her possession.

Brittany Leigh Rodriguez was charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl within one-half mile of a public park, possession of cocaine (third or subsequent offense) and possession of cocaine base (third or subsequent offense), according to the North Charleston Police Department.

Officers were patrolling near the intersection of Dunlap Street and Stafford Road around 8 p.m. following reports of ongoing drug activity and a fatal overdose in the area the previous week…
