CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — City of Charleston offices and most recreation facilities will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day, officials announced.
The closure will trigger several service and schedule changes throughout the holiday week:
Garbage and trash collection
- City crews (Peninsula, inner West Ashley, James Island): All collections will operate on a one-day delay for the entire week.
- Trident Waste (Johns Island, outer West Ashley): All routes will face a one-day delay. Friday routes will be collected on Saturday (yard debris only), and bulk collection will be pushed back to the following Monday, Sept. 14.
- Trident Waste (Daniel Island, Cainhoy): Routes scheduled for Monday through Wednesday will run on a one-day delay.
Recreation facilities
