NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Both a suspect and a North Charleston Police officer were involved in a crash following a chase on Saturday night, a new report states.
At approximately 10:15 p.m. on Sept. 5, a North Charleston Police officer was attempting to exit I-26 west to Mall Drive when a suspect, operating a blue Dodge Charger, unlawfully passed them. The officer reports that the suspect vehicle nearly struck them while travelling at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour.
Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the suspect in the area of Mall Drive and City Hall Lane. The suspect however reportedly failed to stop for blue lights and sirens and instead accelerated onto Lacross Road…
