DOWNTOWN CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston County School District leaders are set to discuss their next steps following a state Inspector General report that raised concerns over board conduct, conflicts of interest, and public spending. The board’s Committee of the Whole is expected to consider a recommendation for an independent audit in response to the findings.
The district stated its intent to seek answers regarding payments made to two vendors: Next Level Educational Services and the Circle of Life Foundation. The board is set to discuss the possibility and scope of an outside audit into these payments during tonight’s meeting.
