South Carolina Ports and Norfolk Southern have restored daily intermodal rail service between the Port of Charleston and Huntsville, Alabama, more than a year after discontinuing the route.
Norfolk Southern stopped its international intermodal service between the two markets in May 2025 as part of cuts to several East Coast routes. The service resumed Sept. 11 after a gap of about 16 months.
