CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – The Emma Abbott Memorial Church has stood on Cooper Street since the 1890s. It was built through a charitable grant for East Side residents over a century ago.
Five years ago, it was brought before the Board of Architectural Review with a plan for rehabilitation. But that plan never came to fruition. Instead, it fell into disrepair, making it easier to get a demolition request approved.
