Several agencies respond to fire at Drayton Hall Draw Bridge, officials say

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Emergency crews are responding to a fire at the Drayton Hall Draw Bridge on Friday evening, officials with the St. Andrews Firefighters Association Local 3697 said.

The Charleston Fire Department, St. Andrews Fire Department, and North Charleston Fire Department responded to the fire above the Ashley River near Harvard Road and Brevard Road around 4:00 p.m. on Sept. 25.

Officials said the fire is involving the infrastructure of the bridge. The Charleston Fire Department says firefighters are continuing to work to extinguish hot spots and fire marshals are on scene to review the incident. Authorities say there are no injuries reported at this time…
