MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – The flavor is coming to Snowden Community Center on Saturday with the Okra Soup Cook-Off, a family-friendly celebration featuring delicious food, local vendors, hands-on activities, and opportunities to learn more about Gullah Geechee culture and heritage.
Hosted by the O.K.R.A. Soup Foundation, the Okra Soup Cook-Off will benefit Geechee Girls Rock, supporting middle and high school girls and the organization’s annual scholarship for Gullah Geechee high school seniors.
