NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Newly obtained 911 calls paint a hectic picture of the deadly late-August shooting on a CARTA bus in North Charleston.
Police said officers responded around 10:41 a.m. Aug. 31 to a CARTA bus stop on Carner Avenue after reports of a shooting. Officers found a person suffering from gunshot wounds aboard the bus. The victim, later identified as 18-year-old Preston Fabers from Charleston, was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the weeks that followed, law enforcement arrested a 15-year-old for the crime on Sept. 21. The teenager is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime…
