Police: 44-year-old arrested after Highway 52 connector crash left victim seriously hurt

A Goose Creek woman was arrested Monday after police said she drove under the influence and left the scene of a crash that seriously injured another person in North Charleston.

North Charleston police responded shortly before 12:30 a.m. Monday to the Highway 52 connector after receiving reports of a collision. Officers were told a victim was lying in the roadway and the suspected driver had left the scene.

An officer later located the suspected vehicle nearby and conducted a traffic stop, according to the North Charleston Police Department. Police said the vehicle had extensive damage and the driver, identified as 44-year-old Rasny Jabret Brutley, appeared heavily intoxicated…
