CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — Colleton County Animal Services is asking for the community’s help as the shelter works to address overcrowding and find homes for animals in its care.
An emergency adoption and fundraising event was held Sunday at Container Bar in downtown Charleston, bringing several adoptable dogs out of the shelter and into the community.
Organizers say the event was also an opportunity to raise money to help provide food, medical care and other necessities for animals still waiting for homes. Shelter staff say they are currently over capacity and are concerned the number of animals needing help could increase…
