Charleston Police to host Domestic Violence Awareness Program at Brittlebank Park

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – As part of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Charleston Police Department is hosting a special program to honor domestic violence survivors on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Brittlebank Park.

The program will include remarks from Chief Chito Walker and Mrs. Olivia Lynch, Special Assistant Solicitor, the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, and a candle-lighting ceremony.

The City of Charleston Municipal Building, located at 180 Lockwood Dr., will be illuminated in purple throughout October to honor these survivors and spread awareness about domestic violence…
