Prosecutors outline evidence they say connects 2 men to 2023 N. Charleston murder

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — Two men are on trial this week in connection with the 2023 shooting death of 18-year-old Emmanuel Johnson in North Charleston.

Qutairus Dymear Telekius Capers-Mitchell and Ti’Zaveis Jaquann Grampus are charged with murder in Johnson’s death. Charleston County court records show both cases are pending on the October 2026 trial docket.

A third defendant, Bernard Demetrius Brown Jr., was also charged. During this week’s proceedings, Brown pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 years, according to court records…
