CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — One week after an overnight lane closure caused hours of gridlock on I-26, the South Carolina Department of Transportation offered no additional information Tuesday about the contractor it blamed or steps taken since the delay.
Two eastbound lanes near the Montague Avenue exit remained closed into the morning commute Sept. 29. The drive from Summerville to downtown Charleston stretched to nearly three hours as ABC News 4’s morning team, including Traffic Tracker Trooper Bob, tracked the backup.
