Georgia-South Carolina Tornado Watch Today: 8 PM Threat Oct 10

Savannah, GA – A tornado watch is in effect across portions of Georgia and South Carolina this Saturday afternoon, putting 22 counties under a severe weather alert through 8 p.m. EDT. Communities near Savannah, Charleston and surrounding inland areas are being urged to remain weather-aware as the evening approaches.

According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, Tornado Watch 679 was issued at 1:50 p.m. EDT Saturday, Oct. 10, and remains in effect until 8 p.m. EDT. The watch covers 11 counties in Georgia and 11 counties in South Carolina, along with adjacent coastal waters.

In Georgia, the watch includes Bulloch, Burke, Candler, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, Jefferson, Jenkins, Screven, Tattnall and Toombs counties…
