Moncks Corner Police Seek Public’s Help Solving 15-Year-Old Homicide

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The Moncks Corner Police Department is seeking the public’s help in solving a 15-year-old homicide.

On Jan. 14, 2009, police responded to a house on Jenkins Street. When police arrived at the location, they found Michael J. Starks dead from gunshot wounds inside his home. He was 21-years-old.

“Mikey was reared and nurtured in a loving and caring home. Christian morals and values were taught to him by his loving family,” his obituary read. “He loved sports and was an avid participant in the Brotherhood Track Team of Moncks Corner Baptist Church.”
