BCSO: High-speed chase ends on I-26 N. Charleston

BERKELEY COUNTY: The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) has arrested a man following a high-speed chase Saturday night that ended in North Charleston.

Devonta Gabrial Frasier, 28, was charged with Failure to Stop for Blue Lights and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana.

According to deputies, Frasier failed to stop for an officer on NAD road in Goose Creek. He then took off at a high rate of speed eventually striking a concrete barrier and slowing down on I-26 eastbound in North Charleston.

Officials say as the vehicle was still rolling, Frasier jumped out of the passenger side and took off on foot. The North Charleston Police Department responded to the scene and was able to locate and detain him.

BCSO said after searching Frasier and his vehicle they found a total of 39.5 grams of marijuana.

Frasier also had outstanding warrants in Berkeley County for Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Failure to Change Address and Operating an Unregistered Vehicle. He also had two additional warrants from the Hanahan Police Department.
