1 dead, 2 injured in Thursday night shooting at mobile home park: DCSO

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – One person has died and two others were injured following a Thursday night shooting at a mobile home park.

Deputies with the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) and officers from the North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) responded to the Delta Oaks Mobile Home Park on Appian Way around 10:42 p.m. for a shooting that had occurred there.

Three people were found injured and were taken to Trident Medical Center for treatment. One of the victims died from their injuries while at the hospital, according to officials.

The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office has identified, Darius Hooks, 20, of North Charleston, as the shooting victim.

Hooks died at the hospital at 11:21 p.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Feb. 3 at the Medical University of South Carolina.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

Authorities ask that anyone with information about the shooting reach out to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.
