GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) — The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) arrested two teens suspected of armed robbery after a high-speed chase with deputies Tuesday.
Tyler Johnson, 19, driver, and Aleah Palepio, 19, passenger, sped off after being pulled over near Pennyroyal Road around 2:30 p.m.

The driver, identified as Johnson, sped south on South Fraser Street reaching speeds of 90 mph before losing control and flipping the car on Mt. Zion Avenue, said GCSO.
During the chase, the suspect’s car struck another car, causing minor damage, but the collision did not cause injuries to the struck car’s occupants.
Palepio was taken to a local hospital for injuries, and the Mount Pleasant Police Department will take her into custody. Johnson was taken to Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital to be cleared and then was booked at Georgetown County Detention Center, according to GCSO.
Authorities believe the pair used a baseball bat to break into a pawn shop in Goose Creek and steal a handgun. Afterward, they allegedly used the stolen handgun to rob a vape shop in the Wando area.
