Charleston Co. working to bring more affordable housing to the area

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – The Charleston County Special Housing Committee will vote on an item that could bring more affordable housing to the county. In 2022, the county council approved a $20 million housing plan through the American Rescue Act. Through this plan, they created the Gap Financing and Infill Development Program. This was put in place to provide financial assistance to nonprofit and for-profit organizations proposing the construction of more affordable housing.
