One Person Arrested for Homicide in Goose Creek

GOOSE CREEK, SC – According to a press release issued by the Goose Creek Police Department on Friday, February 10, 2024, the tranquility of Goose Creek was shattered on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 4:45 PM when the Goose Creek Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a person shot at the Saint James at Goose Creek apartment complex on Channing Way.

The caller indicated a male had been shot in the head on her front porch.

According to the press release, upon arrival, officers discovered the male victim, later identified as Brandon Gregory Cobbs Jr., unresponsive and fatally wounded.

Despite the immediate arrival of Emergency Medical Services, Cobbs was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The incident marked the first homicide in the city in well over a year.

The Goose Creek Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit worked diligently, following multiple leads to identify the suspect as 30-year-old Davon Dwayne Devore.

A warrant for Devore’s arrest was swiftly issued, leading to his apprehension on Saturday, February 10, 2024, around 12:26 pm at a residence on Millburn Avenue in Goose Creek.
