Coroner ID’s pedestrian killed in collision on I-526 Sunday

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — The Charleston County Coroner has identified the pedestrian killed in a crash involving a tow truck on I-526 Sunday.

Cristian Urgiles Arreaga, 27, of Charleston, died from blunt force injuries after being struck by a tow truck near the westbound lanes of the interstate at Leeds Avenue.

The collision happened around 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening, officials said.

The North Charleston Police Department is investigating this collision.
