Raven Saunders to compete in US Track and Field Trials as she eyes another shot in Olympic Games

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston native and Burke High School graduate Raven Saunders is looking to make her third trip to the Olympics in shot put.

Saunders previously competed at the 2016 Games in Rio De Janeiro Games and the 2020 Games in Tokyo, where she won a silver medal.

Saunders will compete in the opening round of women’s shot put competition at the U.S. Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon on Friday, with a chance to advance to the finals on Saturday.

The top three in the event will advance to Paris where shot put competition starts on August 8.
