Slowly drying out in the wake of Monday’s heavy rain!

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A weak cold front will slowly continue to push southward today leaving behind a mostly cloudy sky and a few spotty areas of rain. A considerable amount of cloud cover will help to hold down the temperatures today as we only expect highs in the mid 80s, about 5° below average for this time of the year. Dry weather this evening will eventually give way to the chance of a few showers and storms overnight and early Wednesday morning. Outside of the early morning rain chance, Wednesday will be a mainly dry day with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. We’ll turn hotter, with only a small chance of rain, for the 4th of July with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s. The heat index will top out between 100-105°. The heat will continue to build on Friday and the upcoming weekend with daily highs in the mid to upper 90s with heat index values near 110°. Heat Advisories are likely!
