Emma Navarro recaps Olympics with News 2 Sports

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – “Hearing the chants of fans up on bridges and alongside the river chanting USA it was so surreal.”

Charleston’s Emma Navarro may have come up short in her quest to medal in her Olympic debut, but it was still quite the honor to represent the country on the world’s biggest stage.

“We rode in the elevator with Katie Ledecky, we met Simone Biles in the dining hall. It was pretty insane seeing those athletes out in about doing their day-to-day routine.”

Playing in the Olympics, reaching the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, and being ranked inside the top 20 in the world.

2024 has been a banner year for the Ashley Hall alum.

“I feel confident in how much work I’ve put in and that the work I’ve put in alongside my coach, and my physio, and my team around me that it’s productive and were always moving in a positive direction.”

Along with that confidence, Navarro feels she’s become a more athletic and assertive player which allows her to oppose herself more.

Emma’s gotten better on the court and with her mental approach.
