North Charleston K-9 officer receives ballistic vest thanks to special donation

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A K-9 officer in North Charleston has been outfitted with a ballistic vest.

The North Charleston Police Department said it received a generous donation from Brady’s K9 Fund for a protective vest for K-9 Joker.

“This donation is a testament to the tireless efforts of Brady’s K9 Fund, an organization committed to supporting K9 officers who work diligently to keep our community safe,” the department said in a Facebook post.

According to NCPD, Brady’s K9 Fund was inspired by the vision of a young child who understood the importance of ensuring K-9s were equipped with the same protective gear as human officers.

The organization has raised more than $1.25 million and provided equipment to more than 950 K-9s across the country. To learn how you can help support their efforts, click here .
