MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver killed in a collision Friday just before 7 a.m. on Hwy. 52 near Foxbank Plantation Blvd. in Moncks Corner.
Coroner Darnell Hartwell identifed the victim as Tasha Pope, 34, of Moncks Corner.
According to Moncks Corner Police Chief Steve Young, Pope was traveling north on Hwy. 52 in a Ford Explorer and struck a tractor-trailer that was exiting Sea Fox.

Pope was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. No one else was injured as a result of the crash, police said.
Investigators closed both northbound lanes of Hwy. 52 at Cypress Gardens Rd. while they completed their
investigation, the road was reopened at 9:50 a.m.
This crash is the first fatal collision investigated by the Moncks Corner Police Department in 2024.
