Charleston artist creates custom design for News 2’s Pet Fest

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – News 2’s annual Clear the Shelter campaign is underway. Our team is working to break records, raise funds to help support local animal shelters, and find forever homes for all cats and dogs.

Our 2024 finale event, Pet Fest, will take place on Saturday, August 31 at The Wonderer – the event will include live music, fun activities, and plenty of options for pet adoptions.

News 2’s Clear the Shelters event, Pet Fest, returns on August 31

When we had the idea to put together some Pet Fest merchandise, with 100% of sales going directly to our shelter partners, local artist Rebecca Meixner stepped up to the plate and created a custom design for the event, and donated her time for a wonderful cause.

Inspired by the Lowcountry, Rebecca has a permanent storefront inside the historic Mills House in downtown Charleston. But she also sells her art all over the world to charming boutiques and big retailers. Her unique watercolors are vibrant, and we are so grateful for her help in bringing a Pet Fest logo to life.
