Berkeley County Coroner Seeks Help ID’ing Hit-And-Run Victim

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. – The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office requests help identifying a recent hit-and-run victim.

On Friday, Aug. 23, 2024, at approximately 10:23 p.m., Coroner Darnell Hartwell said his office was notified of an auto versus pedestrian accident that took place on College Park Road near Moses Extension in Summerville.

The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.

The unidentified pedestrian is a Hispanic man between the ages of 30 and 45 years old.

Berkeley County EMS, Berkeley County Sherriff’s Office, C&B Fire & Rescue also responded to this incident.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating.
