Fatal auto-pedestrian collision on NAD Road in Berkeley County

GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCBD) – An early Sunday morning collision on NAD Road near Snake Road has resulted in the death of a pedestrian.

Corporal Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the incident occurred around 3:50 a.m. when a 2014 Nissan Sedan, traveling east on NAD Road, struck a pedestrian walking in the eastbound lanes.

The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and has now been identified by the Berkeley County Coroner’s Office as 60-year-old Jerome Barnett from Goose Creek.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are investigating the incident.
